It was late in the afternoon, gradually creeping towards dusk when the sun would once again set over the beach with the beauty that never failed to keep Kurt grounded on the island. It had gotten him through the hardest, most painful of times with the separation from Blaine and coming to terms with his own murder, and even though Kurt had never been much of a fan of the beach back home, it had come to be part of him now. He was still in awe that Blaine had - finally, after all this time - popped up on the island for him and it was like no time had passed between them at all. Blaine was still a little shaky coming to terms with everything, and it had been a traumatic entry to the island for him, so Cameron had strongly advised Blaine get a lot of rest before facing exploring the island and sinking his teeth into anything here. He had a severe emotional shock and trauma, and even though he seemed to be adjusting well, it was best to just take his transition to this new life gradually. Instead, he and Kurt had just taken these few days to reconnect and understand what they were dealing with. Now, though, Blaine had felt a bit headachy after a bad night sleep the night before from a screaming nightmare of Kurt's death again. Kurt told him to lie down and get a nap after lunch, and he had been fast asleep ever since.
When Quinn had come home from work, Kurt asked her if she minded just sticking close in case Blaine woke up while he went for a bit of a walk on the beach. It would give him time to think things over, but there was no denying he was over the moon having his husband back. He didn't want to let Blaine go or leave him alone in case he disappeared, but he had to force himself to or he would get an unfixable complex about the whole thing. He couldn't wrap Blaine in cotton wool, they had to somehow find a new norm for living here and even though Kurt had been here for a few years now, it was all new as a couple.
He was walking right along the shore, the water lapping over his toes when it washed up onto the wet sand. He was lost in his own thoughts, just basking in the aftermath of his reunion with Blaine and walked up onto the dry sand to head in the direction of the bungalows to see if Blaine was going to wake up for dinner when he nearly tripped over someone who suddenly appeared right in his path. He shrieked in fright, probably never getting used to this people appearing out of nowhere again, and only narrowly avoided falling face-first into the sand. He fell on his knees, sticking his hands out in front of him to brace himself and then whipped his head up to the person. "Oh... my god."
